In the splendid setting of the Sala Cupola of theHotel Excelsior Gallia*****L of Milan the Tuscan winery Vallepicciola presented a selection of its wines at a private tasting for the press and sommeliers from the best restaurants in Lombardy. Vallepicciola was born in the late 1990s when the Bolfo family salvaged the ruins of an old convent in the Sienese municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga and transformed it into the hotel Le Fontanelle***** surrounded by vineyards and centuries-old woods in the Pievesciata countryside, so beautiful it looks like a postcard.

Vallepicciola: wine tasting

Tasting #1: Vallepicciola Bianco 2022, Linea Grandi Cru ❤️+

100% chardonnay | ageing 12 months in barrique + 4 months in bottle

It is bright straw yellow, consistent. The nose is intense and elegant with notes of vanilla, both fresh and candied orange peel, and jasmine. In the mouth it is consistent, fresh, very savoury, structured and with a great acidic backbone that gives it excellent bottle-ageing potential. Long, salivating finish.
